A charming and heartwarming small-town romance! Set in the fictional town of Haven Point, SERENITY HARBOR gives the reader a true glimpse into small-town life with a lot of charm and plenty of tender moments. Bowie Callahan is new in Haven Point, and he spends most of his time working and struggling to care for an autistic half-brother, Milo, he didn't know existed until recently. Katrina Bailey has her own set of struggles, and when Bo makes her an over-generous offer of employment caring for Milo, she wishes she could refuse, and she would . . . if it weren't for a little girl she's determined to adopt. Many of the most tender moments are between Katrina and Milo, but there is plenty of romance between Bo and Katrina. Their affection and romance builds gradually and feels real. I appreciate how the author keeps the romance clean while still giving the reader plenty of heart-fluttering moments. I felt in many ways that it wasn't just the children in need of compassion and healing because Bo and Katrina fill holes in each other's hearts they didn't know needed filling. I haven't read the other books in this series, but it reads great as a stand-alone story. There are many wonderful secondary characters who add some extra charm and interactions with the main characters. RaeAnne Thayne has written a heartwarming story with sweet romance and a wonderful happily-ever-after.
