Well hello and happy Monday to all of you lovely readers! Today I want to talk about books. Not just any books, but books that I love—like, love so much that I would not shut up about them until my friends read them too so we could gush over how amazing they are :) I won’t share all of them (because we’d be here until Christmas) but here’s my top three:
- Carolyn Brown’s “The Lucky Series” – This series was actually shoved at me—lol—but I am so happy it was! Before I started these books I was a strict historical western gal and wouldn’t dream of reading a contemporary romance (couldn’t tell you why, but hey, to each their own, right?) The characters are so fun and Carolyn Brown really knows how to write a super swoony and sexy cowboy (Slade is right up there on my top favorite book boyfriends of all time). And, this series also gave me that little kick in the butt to start my own writing career … so there’s that too :)
- Denise Grover Swank’s “The Wedding Pact” and “The Bachelor Brotherhood” – These series are tied together through family members and I am so happy that Ms. Swank did this. I absolutely love, love, love it when an author can make me laugh and Ms. Swank delivered so much of that through this entire series (the grandmother, y’all … Oh. My. Goodness. She is a hoot.) And the plot line for each story is so well-crafted that I had a hard time putting them down. Ms. Swank really knows how to deliver on “all the feels” and leave you satisfied.
- Lucy Score’s “Blue Moon Series” – Man oh man… I bought the first book in this series thanks to a post on the author’s Facebook page about a goat. A goat! LOL. I wish I could remember the exact line she used, but this goat makes a lot of appearances throughout this series (mainly to terrorize one of the main characters). Unsurprising (because I seem to have a theme of romantic comedy going here), Ms. Score’s books never fail to make me laugh out loud at the over-the-top antics of the town folks and swoon like crazy over the romance that blossoms between the characters (she also delivers on some pretty steamy scenes if ya know what I mean).
Okay, so now that I’ve shared mine I want you to share yours. Tell me about one of your all-time favorite books or series to read. Leave a comment below (and help a gal out because I’m in a bit of a reading rut and I need some good recommendations! LOL). Thanks in advance and have a great week!
